Lockdown Essential Work — Freezer CCTV

It was Covid lockdown in October 2021 — but most of what we do is classified as an essential service. CCTV for a local freezing works is definitely essential. We were contacted by a local meat works company to do some work in their freezer. The meat works freezer (which can reach -40°C) operates entirely by remote console and CCTV cameras. We removed ageing analogue cameras and replaced them with IP cameras. This required some specialist supplies — the cable we used is rated to operate down to -50°C, and the cameras are rated to -40°C. When we arrived, the freezers had been turned off for an hour and the temperature had warmed to -15°C. 🥶
